Associate Veterinarian – Join an Award-Winning, Independently Owned Practice!
North Shore Family Pet Hospital | Northbrook, Illinois
Full-Time or Part-Time | 2+ Years of Experience Preferred
Looking for a veterinary hospital where you can practice excellent medicine, build lasting relationships with clients, and genuinely enjoy coming to work?
North Shore Family Pet Hospital is a thriving, independently owned small animal hospital in the beautiful northern suburbs of Chicago. We’re looking for an experienced, compassionate associate veterinarian to join our team.
An Award-Winning Place to Work
In 2025, North Shore Family Pet Hospital was recognized as an AAHA Hospital of the Year finalist and received the AAHA Celebration Award for Culture and Staff Retention.
We’re particularly proud of this recognition because our people and our culture are at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that excellent veterinary medicine and a happy, supportive workplace go hand in hand. Our doctors and staff work hard, support one another, enjoy what they do, and take pride in providing exceptional care.
What Makes Us Different?
We’re proudly independent. No corporate management or outside investors dictate how we practice medicine. Our decisions are driven by what’s best for our patients, clients, and team.
We have an exceptional team. With 7–8 veterinarians and a talented group of technicians, CSRs, and experienced managers, our hospital offers a collaborative environment where doctors feel supported.
We practice high-quality, individualized medicine. Our hospital is AAHA-accredited, Cat Friendly, and Fear Free certified. We emphasize thorough care, strong client communication, and long-term relationships with families and their pets.
We value work-life balance. We’ve intentionally structured our hospital hours to allow our team to enjoy their lives outside of work. We offer flexible scheduling, no overnight hospitalizations, and no weekend emergency call.
We have a beautiful, modern facility. Our extensively remodeled hospital features digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound access, surgical and therapeutic lasers, in-house laboratory equipment, and electronic medical records. We also collaborate with a board-certified internal medicine specialist who performs consultations and advanced procedures in our hospital.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a veterinarian with at least two years of small animal clinical experience who is comfortable working in a busy, well-established practice.
Our ideal candidate enjoys building relationships with clients, communicates exceptionally well, practices high-quality medicine, and appreciates working collaboratively with other veterinarians and support staff.
We’re looking for someone who values our culture as much as our standard of medical care.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, professional liability coverage, licensing and professional dues, continuing education, paid vacation, retirement benefits, and more.
Come See What Makes Us Special
We’re proud of the hospital we’ve built, the team we’ve assembled, and the community of clients who trust us with their pets.
If you’re looking for a long-term professional home where excellent medicine, supportive colleagues, and a positive workplace culture truly matter, we’d love to meet you.
