Description
As a growing, privately owned practice, we need to add n additional veterinarian to our team to help support our community. We are open Monday through Friday and flexible with the hours worked, including full or part-time. We have been established in south Oklahoma City for 8 years and decided to build a new building which we moved into July 2022.
We pride ourselves in having a family atmosphere not only for employees but also for clients and patients. We are ever growing and changing to adapt to the needs of our employees, clients, advancements in medicine, and our community. We do weekly staff meetings and regular lunch and learns with local drug representatives. Our support staff works well as a team, accepts change well, are well-trained for their position, educated on protocols, and are ready to assist with whatever is needed.
Cornerstone’s tag line is “The foundation to your pet’s health” to which we strive to live out by educating clients on how to detect problems early in their pets and best practices in preventative care which will provide a better chance for their pets to live long and healthy lives.
In our brand-new building we have digital radiography, including dental, a board-certified radiologist who is routinely scheduled to come in to perform ultrasounds, a traveling orthopedic surgeon, in-house pharmacy, in-house laboratory which includes Imagyst readers, a chemistry analyzer, a CBC analyzer, microscope, Idexx snap readers, etc. In our new building, we made sure to provide owners with a more private experience by including a comfort room with an external door where owners can visit their hospitalized pets or have privacy in their final moments with their pets.
We are open 5 days a week and offer general surgery, dental cleaning, routine well appointments, sick appointments, hospitalization, etc. After-hours calls end at 10 pm and the doctor will mostly advise by phone and refer to an after-hours emergency clinic if necessary. We have a licensed technician who does appointments within the boundaries of her license.
Duties:
- Diagnose and treat various illnesses and injuries in animals
- Perform surgical procedures as needed
- Prescribe medications and administer vaccinations
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Conduct physical examinations and routine check-ups
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff
Skills:
- Proficiency in pet care and animal handling
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology
- Ability to restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures
- Experience in dog handling and veterinary critical care
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques for surgical procedures
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
- State licensure to practice veterinary medicine
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Pay is commensurate with experience and hours scheduled.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
