Full-Time Associate Veterinarian
Front Royal, Virginia | AAHA-Accredited Small Animal Practice
We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative Associate Veterinarian to join our established private practice, AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Front Royal, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinarian who values quality medicine, a supportive team environment, and a sustainable work-life balance in a beautiful rural setting with easy access to outdoor recreation and the Washington, D.C. metro area.
About the Practice
Our practice operates out of two well-equipped locations in Front Royal, both designed to support efficient workflows and high-quality patient care. We primarily treat companion animals, with an approximate caseload of 75% dogs and 25% cats, and doctors may choose to see pocket pets if desired.
Both locations are fully equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including digital radiography (standard and dental), IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment, ultrasound, endoscopy, and companion animal therapy lasers. We also work with a board-certified surgeon who visits on an as-needed basis to perform orthopedic and advanced soft tissue procedures, allowing our doctors to remain involved in more complex cases while maintaining strong referral support.
Team & Culture
Our team is built around collaboration, respect, and shared accountability. Across both locations, the practice is supported by a robust staff that includes multiple full-time and part-time doctors, licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, CSRs, pharmacy technicians, inventory specialists, and dedicated practice and HR management.
Each doctor is paired with an assistant and supported by floating assistants and at least one licensed technician as part of the treatment team, maintaining an approximate 1:3 DVM-to-support-staff ratio.
Appointments are scheduled in 30-minute blocks, allowing for thorough exams and meaningful client communication. Doctors generally see 12–15 patients per day. Most doctors have one dedicated surgery morning per week.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is offered as a straight salary (DOE), with a formal salary analysis completed during the offer stage. There is no production requirement.
Benefits include:
Health Insurance: 100% employer-paid premiums for the employee.
