Job Summary:
The Associate Veterinarian provides high quality medical, surgical, and preventative care to a diverse caseload including small animals, large animals, and equine patients. This role involves collaborating with veterinary technicians, support staff, and local ranches to deliver compassionate and efficient care while maintaining strong client relationships. Your expertise will help ensure the health, comfort, and well-being of our patients while fostering a positive experience for pet owners. This is an exciting opportunity for veterinary professionals eager to grow their skills in both small animal medicine as well as large animal and equine.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions across various species, including dogs, cats, and equine animals.
- Perform routine surgical procedures (e.g., spay/neuter, soft tissue surgery, field procedures)
- Provide emergency and urgent care as needed.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments while monitoring patient responses to optimize recovery.
- Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, grooming, and preventive health strategies to promote long-term wellness.
- Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology and uphold high standards of animal husbandry and hygiene.
- Travel to farms/ranches for heard health evaluations, reproductive services, and emergency calls.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Active veterinary license in the state of Washington
- USDA accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong clinical and surgical skills across multiple species preferred.
- Proven veterinary critical care experience with the ability to handle emergency situations efficiently.
- Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to accurately diagnose and treat diverse conditions.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures related to pet care and animal husbandry.
- Experience in equine medicine is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for expanding your expertise is welcomed.
