Collaborate with a progressive team of shelter veterinary professionals at Faithful Friends Animal Society in northern Delaware. This position is available to veterinarians seeking an opportunity to learn and develop leadership, interpersonal and managerial skills as we work together to lead and develop the public-facing sides of our non-profit veterinary clinic.

DESCRIPTION

Faithful Friends Animal Society is a comprehensive, nonprofit animal welfare organization that serves 18,000 pets and 24,000 people a year. We operate a No Kill animal shelter which includes a medical wing as well as a new RV in Delaware. Our compassionate organization provides various programs and services to pet owners to reduce pet relinquishment.

The Faithful Friends Animal Clinic provides preventative medicine, basic sick care, and surgeries to owned pets and to community cats. We are in search of a PART-TIME or FULL-TIME VETERINARIAN who advocates for pets, educates clients on all aspects of pet health, ensures a safe and effective environment, and improves the medical quality and business performance of the Clinic. The Clinic has dedicated exam rooms, a new RV, on-site lab, reception area, outdoor seating, supportive front desk staff and skilled veterinary technicians. We will consider relief veterinarians too.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide compassionate, quality preventative and basic wellness/sick care to patients using low stress handling techniques
  • Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day including physical examination, diagnostics, treatment recommendations and prescribing of medications
  • Communicate with clients in a respectful way, discuss physical examination and test results to allow pet owners to make informed decisions about their pet’s care
