Our privately owned mixed animal practice is looking for a full time small animal veterinarian or a mixed animal practitioner.  Family style practice, focused on team work and quality care, not high pressure production. We have all the lab machines and toys of a corporate owned practice.  The difference is we want you to use them even if there are financial restraints.  Our prices are reasonable allowing our clients to afford to treat their pets.  No small animal after hours calls.  If you are mixed animal trained only one night a week on call, for large animal emergencies, and on call one weekend a month. Our hospital sits below the Blue Ridge Parkway and is within close proximity to unlimited hiking trails.  Smith Mountain Lake is only 35 minutes away.  Bedford is a great small town with a fabulous brewery and many wineries close by.  Big city amenities are within 30 mins in either direction.  We love doing surgeries, as well as working up challenging internal medicine cases.  Our large animal work is limited to small family farms and a few horse boarding facilities. We offer 20% production bonus, paid vacation, money towards CE, 401K contribution, paid health care and we cover DEA license, AVMA license and liability. Requirements

Must be proficient in small animal internal medicine.  Small animal surgical skills are desired but not a must.  For mixed animal practitioners good large animal internal medicine skills and routine surgical practices like suturing lacerations is a requirement.
