Black Dog Veterinary Services is an AAHA-accredited, Fear Free Certified, and Feline Friendly Certified small animal hospital in beautiful Bozeman, Montana. We currently see dogs and cats and are a close-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together. We take pride in practicing excellent medicine while creating a positive experience for both our patients and our people.
We’re looking for a part-time DVM to join our team approximately 2–3 days per week. We value having a life outside of veterinary medicine, so there are no on-call shifts, nights, weekends, or holidays.
We believe great veterinary medicine starts with a great team. Our doctors and support staff work collaboratively, communicate well, and are always willing to jump in and help each other. We’re looking for someone who is kind, approachable, flexible, and excited to be part of a team—not just someone looking for a place to work.
Our hospital is equipped to support high-quality medicine without making your day unnecessarily complicated. We provide services such as wellness, sick, and urgent care, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry, with digital dental radiography standard on dental procedures. We also have digital radiography, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, PRP therapy, laser therapy, a cloud-based PIMS, voice dictation, and an extensive online pharmacy with convenient home delivery. We’re always open to doctors who are interested in developing additional areas of medicine or helping us grow services within the hospital, such as alternative therapies (acupuncture, chiropractic care, and rehab) and exotic medicine.

New graduates are absolutely welcome! Our veterinarians have years of clinical experience and genuinely enjoy mentoring and supporting one another. We’re happy to provide guidance as you build confidence in your clinical skills while giving experienced doctors the autonomy to practice at their level.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation is based on experience and number of hours agreed to. It is structured as a guaranteed base salary plus production bonus with no negative accrual. Part-time employees are eligible for 401(k) with employer matching, continuing education allowance, professional association dues, Montana veterinary license, professional liability insurance, significant employee discounts, and paid time off.
