Description
Spay Taos is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Veterinarian to join our Free Public Spay/Neuter Clinic in Taos, NM. This role is central to our mission of improving animal welfare in underserved rural communities by providing high-quality, accessible care to owned and community (feral) animals.
Since Spring 2024, Spay Taos has performed over 5,000 surgeries, serving Taos, Colfax, and Mora Counties, as well as the Taos and Picuris Pueblos. We are a stable nonprofit organization supported by local governments, grants, and community donors, working collaboratively with regional animal welfare partners to address the root causes of pet overpopulation.
Position Overview
This is a part-time position (3 days per week) in a high-volume spay/neuter clinic, with the potential to expand to four days per week. We seek a veterinarian who values teamwork, community service, and excellence in care.
Requirements
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in New Mexico
Eligible for DEA registration and New Mexico Controlled Substance Registry
Training or experience in high-volume spay/neuter preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative, client-oriented, and community-focused
Commitment to quality medicine in a nonprofit, public service environment
