What your week looks like
| Day | Hospital hours | Your schedule |
| Monday–Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm | Weekday shifts |
| Saturday–Sunday | Closed | Off, every weekend |
| After hours | Referred to local ER | No emergency calls |
| • | No nights or weekends. The clinic is open weekdays only, 8:00 to 5:00. Full-time and part-time schedules are both possible. |
| • | Less charting, more medicine. An AI scribe drafts your medical records from the appointment, so you finish your notes at work, not at home. |
| • | After hours are covered. Overnight and weekend emergencies go to West Central Ohio Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Lima, about 15 miles away. |
| • | Same-day urgent care. Sick and urgent patients are worked in the same day during business hours, which keeps the caseload varied. |
| • | Loyal clients and a strong wellness program. Long-standing client and patient relationships, plus wellness plans for puppies, kittens, adults and seniors that bring patients back for regular exams, vaccines and bloodwork. |
The medicine you'll practice
| • | Dogs and cats only. Wellness, dentistry, surgery, dermatology, senior screening, urgent care and end-of-life care. |
| • | In-house tools. An in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound and therapeutic (cold) laser. |
| • | Careful surgery. A pre-anesthetic panel before every surgery, and every surgical patient goes home with pain medication. |
| • | Room for your interests. As the clinic's second doctor, you'll help decide what we grow into, whether that's surgery, dentistry or internal medicine. |
Who you'll work with
| • | Dr. Carder. Dr. Carder holds both a DVM and a master's degree in nutrition from The Ohio State University, after earning a pre-veterinary degree at the University of Findlay. He enjoys the surgical, nutritional and clinical sides of practice, and off the clock he runs professional fireworks shows as a licensed pyrotechnician. |
| • | A five-person support team, led by Practice Manager Cody, who has 14 years in veterinary management, and Lead Customer Service Representative Jessica. Two of our three veterinary assistants are working toward technician credentials. |
| • | A sister hospital nearby. Metz Petz of Shawnee is part of the same family, so you have colleagues close by and mentorship opportunities with experienced veterinarians. |
| • | A team that enjoys working together. Our staff communicate well and support one another, and fun team events keep the culture connected. |
